In an England of the future, Alex and his "Droogs" spend their nights getting high at the Korova Milkbar before embarking on "a little of the old ultraviolence". After Alex is jailed for bludgeoning the cat Lady to death, Alex submits to BEHAVIOUR MODIFICATION TECHNIQUE to earn his freedom. He is conditioned to abhor violence, returned to the world defenceless, and becomes the victim of his prior victims. A controversial piece with Stanley Kubrick's 1971 adaption being banned from release in the UK.
